ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - MINSDEN
Minsden is a 48 bed care home situated within walking distance of Hitchin Town Centre. The home provides a spectrum of care for older people including dementia, intermediate and enablement care. The home is accredited by Hertfordshire County Council to provide specialist dementia care, and has to undergo a rigorous annual evaluation process in order to achieve that status.
We make every effort to provide a comfortable environment for residents and whilst all our single rooms provide all the facilities they need – wash basin, television, call system and telephone point, we encourage residents to personalise their accommodation. Bathrooms and toilets are also easily accessible.
Key workers are assigned to each new resident to help them settle in to their new home. We also recognise the need to keep relatives informed about residents’ wellbeing and always welcome visits.
We offer an excellent programme of weekly activities, with regular visits from entertainers, excursions to the local countryside, public events throughout the summer months, as well as special celebrations for religious festivals and birthdays.
Our Day Service offers activities for older people from the local Asian community and we also have two short-stay rooms for people in need of a break. Hot, nutritious dishes from our kitchen are designed in collaboration with our residents and feature both Asian and British cuisine.
