ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - WAY AHEAD SUPPORT SERVICES (HEAD OFFICE)
Way Ahead Support Services (charity number 1040654) provides support to individuals with various disabilities. We are a non-profit limited company.The majority of the care has an enabling approach, encouraging individuals to take control of their lives and to be as independent as possible in the way that best suits them. This includes independent living, tenancy support, being part of the local community, and accessing appropriate services.
When the service started we were known as Mid Warwickshire Mencap. It was developed by parents and carers who had children with disabilities and found limited support available. Now we have been supporting people for over forty years.
At Way Ahead we feel that being able to live in your own home with flexible support, being listened to and taken seriously and being supported within your chosen lifestyles is something we all want. We pride ourselves in offering individualised support within an ethos that revolves around person centred thinking.
We recognise that each person we support is an individual with unique needs and wishes. We also recognise that individuals have many qualities as well as needing support.
Way Ahead works in partnership with Specialist Services like Adult, Health and Community Services and other stakeholders such as Supporting People as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure individuals' needs are met.
Way Ahead Support Services is a registered Care Service with over 70 staff. We provide support as part of a holistic package in line with CQC requirements, who we are registered with and inspected by. The charity is rated ‘compliant’ by the CQC, Grade ‘A’ by Warwickshire County Council, and has the Job Centre Disability symbol. We have won 2 Warwickshire Care Partnership awards (involving individuals in care delivery, 2009, and the individuals’ allotment project ‘Growing Together’ 2010). Way Ahead has been nominated for The Great British Care Awards, winning the National Award for Dignity in 2011/12.
