ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - MERSEY PARKS RESIDENTIAL AND NURSING HOME
Mersey Parks is situated in the residential suburb of Toxteth in Liverpool, just a mile outside the City Centre and central to the variety of attractions that Liverpool has to offer. It is a modern, purpose-built home that has been designed specifically to meet the needs of elderly residents.
The care we offer
Mersey Parks offers several types of stay depending on the level of support required. This ranges from long and short term care to nursing care, residential care and respite. We also care for those requiring convalescence, palliative care and also specialist Parkinson’s disease care.
Mersey Parks welcomes residents from all funding types including private funders, local authority or NHS continuing care.
Food
Mealtimes play an important and enjoyable role in the day of residents at Mersey Parks. Our chef prepares tasty, seasonal menus and ensures there is a hot and cold choice available. There is a Night Bite menu available for residents, if needed during the hours of 6.30pm and 6.30am, and we serve delicious home-made cakes to residents daily with afternoon tea.
When a new resident join us at Mersey Parks we aim to fully understand their nutritional tastes, special diets and preferences shortly after their arrival.
Activities
Our activity co-ordinator runs a wide range of interesting, enjoyable and stimulating activities for our residents to enjoy, regardless of ability. Activities include reminiscence therapy, arts and crafts, beauty therapy and board games. The home has strong links with the local community and local entertainers often visit the home.
There are excursions to local places of interest such as Palm House in Sefton Park, the Albert Docks, local museums and the library.
