ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - MARNER HOUSE

At Marner House we provide support to eight individuals following an acquired brain injury. We aim to support service users to develop their social, cognitive and independent life skills and to build their confidence.

Therapy programmes are carefully designed by specialists, such as physiotherapists, speech therapists and occupational therapists, and integrated into each service user's daily routine. Support is based on rehabilitation techniques which strive to increase independence, and progress is monitored closely using Goal Attainment Scaling, which provides motivation for the service user.

All service users are encouraged to create their own activity programme, which is tailored to their interests and makes full use of facilities available in the local community.

Marner House is located in a quiet, well-established residential area, one mile from Nuneaton town centre where there are many educational and leisure facilities such as cinemas and a swimming pool.  

The service has spacious shared areas, allowing service users to have their own space as well as socialising and taking part in activities. The diverse programme of activities offered within the service includes music, art and life skills workshops.

There is a specially adapted training kitchen where service users can be supported by staff to prepare meals and drinks, building their independent living skills. There is also a gym and physio room.

Each of the eight bedrooms has en-suite facilities and the option for ceiling tracking, if required. The whole building is wheelchair accessible.

The service has a secluded garden with a patio area and raised beds, which service users are invited to help maintain
