ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - MALI JENKINS HOUSE

Mali Jenkins Specialist Residential Home, in Walsall in the West Midlands, offers friendly, experienced care in a warm, homely atmosphere. The home is managed on behalf of John Grooms Housing Association.

The care we offer

Mali Jenkins provides care for those over the age of 40 who have Parkinson’s disease or other neurological conditions. There are 20 beds offering residential care, convalescence and respite.

Key features of Mali Jenkins

Mali Jenkins was the UK's first specialist residential home caring for people with Parkinson's. The home is named after the founder of the Parkinson's disease Society, herself a carer for her sister.

Bedrooms

The bedrooms are all single occupancy and are attractively furnished. Each has a kitchenette area with refrigerator and all offer ensuite facilities. All bedrooms have thermostatic radiator, a telephone point and a 24-hour call system. We encourage our residents to bring their own belongings such as favourite pictures, small items of furniture and ornaments to make their rooms feel more homely.

Garden

Mali Jenkins has a secure and attractive garden with a seating area surrounded by colourful shrubs and pretty hanging baskets, where residents can sit out and enjoy the finer weather. A sensory garden offers stimulation for all the senses and the grounds are home to our resident pet rabbit. Accessibility is at the forefront of the garden’s design – the pathways are wide to accommodate wheelchair access and therefore offer enjoyment for all.
