ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - LIGHTMOOR VIEW
Lightmoor View in Telford has been designed specifically for older people whose needs arise from dementia. This was the first of Coverage Care’s home to have been designed and built especially for the company.
Each of its 75 rooms is en-suite and laid out in a simple, attractive style.
The health and wellbeing of all our service users is extremely important to us and we place great importance in healthy eating, with good home cooked nutritious food, freshly prepared from our kitchen.
We have quiet zones and communal areas for socialising, all laid out to be friendly and welcoming. The comfortable surroundings enable our service users to live as comfortable a life as possible and our activities enable participants to feel part of life.
Everyone living and working at Lightmoor View can genuinely feel they are among friends. Residents can decide where and how they spend their time, whether taking part in the variety of activities, or walking in the gardens. But no-one is ever isolated or alone.
We endeavour to provide a stimulating environment for all individuals offering physical and meaningful occupation. We have a hairdresser who visits once a week, and an aromatherapist who visits fortnightly. The local ministers visit regularly to ensure service users spiritual needs are met, alternatively arrangements can be made for you to attend the local church.
The Catering Manager has obtained the Platinum Healthy Eating Award and there is a wide choice of freshly cooked meals catering for all dietary needs. All service users are offered a choice from the day’s menu. Meal times are flexible to meet individual needs.
Lightmoor View has adopted the butterfly approach for people with dementia which uses everyday tasks to stimulate the mind, this technique can improve mobility, help with sleep patterns and can help with the reduction of medication
