ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - KIBBLESWORTH
Kibblesworth Specialist Support Centre provides a comprehensive physical and psychological recovery programme for adults with complex care needs. This clinically led, purpose-built service supports individuals who have experienced traumatic head injuries, or have developed degenerative conditions such as Huntington’s Disease, Korsakoff’s Psychosis, Picks Disease and Karposi’s Sarcoma.
We provide a comprehensive assessment process following admission to identify each person’s goals and needs which focuses on behaviour, cognition and mobility. Following this assessment, we work with the individual, their family and wider support network to create a personalised care programme which focuses on their progression through the care pathway. Regular review meetings are regularly held.
Rehabilitation is tailored to the needs of the individual and can include sessions to develop independent living skills, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, guided leisure time and vocational training and support. Rehabilitation will often occur in real world settings, such as visits to nearby shops and amenities, traveling on public transport or going on excursions in the local area.
We also provide a high level of clinical support and appropriate therapies for individuals who require a medium to long term support package.
Through our outreach service we continue to support individuals that have stayed at Kibblesworth to live more independently in their own homes.
Our supported living services offer people tailored and targeted support whilst retaining the benefits of independent living. We encourage individuals to be involved in their local community, access employment, continue with education and develop and maintain friendships.
Meals are an important part of the day at Kibblesworth. Our experienced catering staff prepare a varied menu of fresh home cooked food every day and we cater for individual likes and dislikes from a cultural, religious or choice perspective.
