Situated close to the North East coastline, in the heart of Horden, County Durham, Jack Dormand Care Home is a purpose built 43 bedded care home offering Dementia, Nursing and Residential care.
Meet the team
At HC-One our experienced Home Managers and members of staff ensure kindness is at the heart of everything we do.
We understand that meals are a very important part of our Residents’ day, our menus cover a variety of choices for each meal and a choice of snacks, fresh fruit and refreshments are also available 24 hours a day.
Family and friends join Residents for meals which are served in one of our dining rooms or, if our Residents wish, they can choose to eat in the privacy of their own rooms.
Hobbies and interests
Our Activities Co-ordinator organises both group and one-on-one activities of popular pastimes including:
• Quizzes
• Gentle exercise
• Flower arranging
• Pet therapy
• Coffee mornings
We host musical events, professional entertainers, local performers and performances from local school children.
Residents are invited on regular outings to local places of interest.
Outdoor areas
With views across Horden village, our courtyard garden and sheltered patio area offer a place of tranquillity. Our wheelchair accessible secure patio and comfortable seating areas are popular. Residents also enjoy keeping the raised flower beds looking good.
