ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - HIGHCLERE NURSING HOME
Highclere is a purpose-built nursing home specially designed for the elderly. It is situated in a pleasant residential area, within walking distance of the many local amenities. The home has been rated “excellent” by the Care Quality Commission.
The care we offer Highclere provides nursing and residential care, convalescence, care for people with Huntington's disease, respite and palliative care. It also provides specialist residential dementia care. As you’d expect from Bupa, standards of care are second to none with registered nurses and highly-trained care assistants providing 24-hour professional support.
Food Residents can enjoy a wide range of delicious meals, prepared by experienced catering staff. All menus are balanced and nutritious, prepared daily using fresh produce and with a hot and cold choice at every meal. Residents' personal preferences and dietary requirements are assessed shortly after arrival and reflected in the menus. Residents' feedback is always welcome and, on their birthday, each resident is served a meal of their choice and a delicious home-made birthday cake.
Activities Our programme of activities changes daily, ensuring that there is always something interesting for residents to do, whatever their interests or level of mobility. Local entertainers, a mobile library and hairdresser all visit the home regularly. Activities also include outings to local places of interest, such as to the garden centre, or into Milton Keynes, where recently a tea dance was held for residents, carers and their families. There are other seasonal events celebrated each month also, which might include Mother's Day and Burn's Night among others.
