ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - HIGH STREET
High Street is a detached bungalow care home providing personal care and accommodation for 6 people with a learning disability. We cater for people over the age of 18 with severe leaning disabilities, Autism, Learning Disability, Diabetes, and some have physical disabilities.
We are based in the rural village of Oakley which is in close proximity of Bedford town. We are also close to the train station and have a regular bus service which stops just outside the service.
The home has 6 single bedrooms with wash basins, 3 rooms have wheelchair access. (We currently have 5 placements with one spare room).
There are 2 fully equipped bathrooms, a kitchen / dining room, a lounge and a large garden.
Our staff team is made up of 13 staff, this is a mixture of care workers, waking night staff, a home manager and 2 senior care workers
We provide all day care arrangements which includes activities in and out of the house. We have a music session in-house weekly and an aromatherapist visits once a week offering massage to those who wish to purchase the service.
Our aim is to promote independence and support people with a learning disability to achieve their own personal goals. We have a person centred approach to the support we provide and welcome feedback from stakeholders on a regular basis.
