Hazelwood is a registered provider of living accommodation for people who require personal care. Everything we do is driven by the needs, abilities and aspirations of our clients as far as is practicable. We are committed to the principle of consultation and full involvement of clients (or their representatives) at all stage.
Hazelwood is available to clients with individual needs (older people/mental ill health/dementia/physical/sensory, etc) needs. The property is set in its own grounds, with a beautiful sensory garden to the rear of the home where one can sit and watch birds drink from the fountain or on cooler days enjoy sitting in the summer house to gaze at the numerous plants and flowers.
Our bright and spacious main lounge (32ftx20ft) looks out onto the rear garden. French doors allow access to the garden which is on one level and wheelchair friendly. The focal points in the main lounge are the fireplace and a 6ft tall aquarium (which is stocked with tropical fish) and is illuminated. A 52” TV is wall mounted to enable all a good view, and surround sound guarantees to help anyone with hearing impairments. We have a further two lounges which are smaller but just as comfortable and welcoming. Fresh flowers are purchased weekly for the lounges. Our main dining room is bright and pleasantly decorated. Radios are situated in each dining area to enable individuals to enjoy music and news whilst eating their meals.
Bookcases are located in various areas of the home (these being regularly restocked by the library service). We have a smoke room for residents.
Bedrooms are decorated to each individual resident’s choice, which includes matching curtains and throws for beds.
Built on one level, it has three wings with ten bedrooms on each wing. The fourth wing has a rehabilitation kitchen where cooking features as a regular activity for our residents. We can also boast of having a large activity room.
