ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - GREY FERRERS NURSING AND RESIDENTIAL HOME
Grey Ferrers is a purpose-built home in Braunstone, a residential area of Leicester. It has a convenient location, close to shops and on a local bus route, which is useful for visiting friends and family.
The care we offer
The home provides residential, nursing, nursing dementia, convalescence, palliative care and respite. We also offer specialist care for those who have experienced a stroke. We employ registered nurses and highly trained care assistants who provide personal 24-hour care and support in a respectful way.
Key features of Grey Ferrers
This pleasant home was named after Sir John Grey, Earl Ferrers of Groby. It is a modern, well-equipped home comprising four separate houses, all of which are able to care for elderly people with physical disabilities.
Bedrooms
Bedrooms are attractively decorated to a high standard, with comfortable furnishings. All rooms enjoy a view of either the gardens or the pretty patios, and some even have access to their own terraced area. Every room has a telephone and television point, thermostatic radiator, smoke detector and a 24-hour call system. Residents are welcome to bring in their own belongings, such as pictures, small items of furniture and ornaments to make their rooms more homely.
Home life
Each of the four houses has its own lounge, including separate quiet lounge, a bright conservatory and a traditional dining room. These areas are where residents can watch TV, relax, or socialise. Each house has its own delightful garden, some with raised flowerbeds that residents of all levels of mobility can help to tend if they wish. There is also a sensory garden full of different smells, textures and sounds where residents and their visitors like to sit on sunny days. We also use our reception for church services once a month.
