ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - GLEN ELDON
Glen Eldon is a detached house in the rural location of Medstead, set in the beautiful countryside of North Hampshire.
This home provides support for eight adults with learning disabilities and is surrounded by fields and footpaths, yet is within walking distance of Medstead village green, stores, hall, church and pub. It is just a short drive to Alton town centre.
The young men and women living at Glen Eldon have a variety of needs which are well supported including complex epilepsy, autism, Lennox Gastaut Syndrome, communication difficulties, cerebral palsy and visual impairment.
Glen Eldon has a light and spacious dining room which opens onto the back garden and patio. There is also a generously sized lounge with french doors onto the other garden area which offers a fantastic outside space for relaxing and socialising. Between these two rooms is a smaller, second lounge which also offers a separate smaller eating environment for those who prefer to eat in a quieter setting; this room also doubles as a sensory room.
The bedrooms are all individualised, with lovely aspects. There are two bathrooms and a separate shower room plus a further downstairs toilet.
The varied interests of those supported at Glen Eldon include long walks, pottery classes, pampering sessions, going to cafes and other social activities such as bowling, parties and theatre visits.
There are two house vehicles to facilitate getting out and about locally and further afield. The people living at Glen Eldon enjoy busy days filled with opportunities such as drama, music and movement and much more.
The staff team at Glen Eldon are skilled and experienced in using positive approaches and motivational techniques to support individuals to become more active in their daily lives, social opportunities and within the local community.
