ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - GILLINGHAM GRANGE
We provide care and support for people with complex care needs including high dependency specialist dementia and residential care. Our friendly, dedicated and highly trained staff team of nurses, care staff and Home Manager are available 24 hours a day.
The team at Gillingham Grange works in a person centred way to identify their individual goals and focus on enablement and the promotion of personal dignity in a safe and respectful environment. We ensure people receive the highest standard of care to suit their individual needs.
We enable people to maintain lifestyles that are as similar as possible to those enjoyed at home. We encourage regular interaction with the local community, including contact with friends, family and local groups. We encourage friends and family to be involved through regular visits and participation at special activities, events and open days.
Our Activities Co-ordinator organises an extensive range of activities which individuals can choose to become involved in. This may include cooking cakes for afternoon tea, researching topics online, gardening, board games and creative arts and crafts.
The activities offered are very much based on the individual person’s choice and interests. We also offer each resident a diary where they can document the day’s events and ask them to share with staff so we can really understand what each person likes to do with their day.
Meals are an important part of the day at Gillingham Grange. Our expert chef offers a varied menu of fresh home cooked food every day and we cater for individual likes and dislikes from a cultural, religious or choice perspective.
We have large gardens which many residents enjoy sitting in or doing the gardening. There is a lovely garden centre across the road which is a great place for morning coffee or afternoon tea. We also have an in-house hairdressing salon and residents often enjoy visits from manicurists, beauticians, chiropodists, physiotherapists and other professionals.
