ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - FREEWAYS - SUSAN HAMPSHIRE HOUSE
Susan Hampshire House provides accommodation and support for up to sixteen people with a learning disability. The house is located in the centre of Yate opposite a range of local amenities including the shopping centre, library, sports centre and local buses. Residents are supported to access the local community and are offered an individualised day service package run from the house or in the local community.
Eleven of the permanent rooms have en suite toilets and seven of these are on the ground floor. There are several communal areas including two lounges, dining room and enclosed paved garden to the rear. There is wheelchair access through and has specialist features to support people with mobility issues with personal care and a minibus with tail-lift.
There are three respite rooms which all have en suite toilets and there is a separate kitchen and lounge. Staff levels are approriate to enable people with medium to high support needs and include 1 sleep in and 1 night wake staff.
