ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - FREEWAYS - JONATHAN HOUSE
Jonathan House is an 8 bedded residential home for adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities. It is situated in Westbury Park and is just a short walk away from the Downs, local amenities and mainbus routes.
Service users are encouraged and supported to be as independent as possible, often with a personal desire to move into independent living in the future.
Staff promote service user involvement/inclusion, decision making, diversity and equality and a positive complaints/concerns/comments culture. Service users are at the centre of our quality assurance process which values their feedback.
Vocational opportunities/links at Jonathan House include employment at John Lewis, a local pre-school nursery, a local charity shop, a café, People First and a cat & kitten re-homing charity. Service users also access a number of local colleges, Bristol Link and other community based courses.
Other community involvement includes participation with the planning and fundraising in the annual Westbury-Park festival and local church events throughout the year.Service users have a diverse range of social activities/hobbies including – a weekly (service users led) darts activity, bingo, karaoke, walking, gardening, swimming, football (playing and watching),computers, shopping, going to the pub and clubbing. Other trips include – Key Gardens & Hampton Court, Dr Who Exhibition, Bitton Steam train, The Welsh Open, Cheltenham Racecourse, England U21’s match.
