ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - FLOWERDOWN CARE HOME
Flowerdown Care Home provides accommodation for up to 48 individuals who require nursing, respite or palliative care.
Flowerdown, a friendly and “homely” home, is set in pleasant grounds with beautiful gardens and located on the outskirts of the historic city of Winchester. It is within easy reach of local shops and amenities, public transport and the M3 motorway.
The home has a team of qualified nurses and dedicated carers who provide an excellent standard of care. We acknowledge that moving into a care home is not always an easy experience. Our person-centred approach means that each Resident is respected as an individual with individual rights and choices. We encourage our Residents to make decisions regarding their daily lives whilst supporting their care needs. Our Residents and their families are at the heart of everything we do.
Flowerdown’s facilities include two large lounges, a quiet lounge and a dining area. This provides our Residents with a choice of environments in which to relax with friends and relatives. Our Residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms to make them more homely; many of the rooms have lovely garden views. Family and friends are welcome to visit at any time.
Our Personal Activities Leader and our Activities Volunteer aim to ensure that our Residents enjoy an active social life if they wish. We provide a varied activities programme and encourage involvement from the local community.
