ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - FIVE PENNY HOUSE
At Five Penny House we support six individuals with a learning disability who may also have autistic spectrum disorders and physical disabilities. The service is close to Hartlepool town centre with good public transport links.
We encourage everyone to make use of local amenities and be as independent as possible. We visit shops, pubs and clubs as well as attending local events. The wider area has many leisure facilities which allow individuals to take part in a variety of activities; these include a swimming pool and a ten pin bowling centre.
Staff are committed to understanding each individual’s preferences and wishes. Everyone is encouraged to become involved in the day to day running of the service, building daily living skills. There is a kitchen where everyone can take part in meal preparation, supported by staff.
Five Penny House is a detached property with six bedrooms. The bedrooms on the upper floor can be accessed using a stair lift. One bedroom has en-suite facilities.
The shared areas include a dining room, a conservatory and a large lounge where people can spend time with others and take part in activities. There is a large, enclosed garden with a lawn and patio area which provides a pleasant environment where people can relax.
