ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - FARCROFT
Farcroft is situated close to Wellington town centre; the local transport system has a regular bus service to enable any one of our residents to go shopping should they wish. The home caters for 41 older people assessed as requiring residential or EMI care. Telford & Wrekin Council block purchase 2 Interim beds and 5 respite beds.
Farcroft has adopted the butterfly approach for its residents with dementia, this means that everyday activities are used as engagement, and can increase mobility, stimulate the mind, assist with sleep patterns and can aid in the reduction of medication.
Farcroft has a lovely, homely, friendly atmosphere from the moment you enter the building and the staff are there to make sure you enjoy your stay and get the most out of your time at Farcroft.
There is a varied programme of events ranging from meals out, trips to the theatre, bingo, coffee mornings and other activities on a daily basis, and of course quiet areas for those who wish to read or chat with friends and family or simply relax.
At Farcroft we cater for all dietary requirements and our food if freshly cooked in the Home’s kitchen.
Our Catering Manager has been awarded the Gold Healthy Eating Award of which we are all very proud.
Farcroft receives visits from local church ministers and can also arrange transport to your local place of worship if you require it. Our service users also enjoy going shopping and taking a break on holiday.
Meetings are held regularly with service users in order to share ideas for the home and create a more personal environment.
Although Farcroft does not provide nursing care; nursing needs are met through the District Nursing Service and Community Psychiatric Nurses who visit on a regular basis. Appointments can be made with the Chiropodist, Optician, local Dentist, Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist. We also have an excellent service from the local Doctors’ Surgeries, who also cover all emergency needs.
