Peaceful and discreet, the leafy suburb of Oakwood is the ideal location for this delightful care home, whose design is perfectly in keeping with the surrounding area. The home has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment ensuring it offers the latest care facilities in a warm and welcoming environment.
The care we offer
Elmwood offers different levels of care to suit a range of needs, from nursing and post operative care to shorter term convalescent or respite. The home also offers specialist palliative care. The home has a team of registered nurses and well trained, dedicated care assistants that provide an excellent standard of 24-hour care.
Food
Our nutritionally balanced menus are carefully prepared by our chef to ensure the best combination of nutrition and flavour for our residents.
Residents can choose to dine overlooking the gardens in the home’s traditional styled dining rooms, or if they prefer, they can eat in their own room. Wine and sherry are available with meals. We also offer a Night Bite menu between 6.30pm and 6.30am for those residents who need to eat between these hours. Throughout the day, tea and biscuits are served and everyday there is a tempting, fresh homemade cake to enjoy in the afternoon.
Friends and family are most welcome to come and join residents for meals at any point, should they wish to.
Activities
There's something for everyone at Elmwood, all provided in a relaxed, homely atmosphere.
We have a dedicated activity co-ordinator who ensures that all residents have something stimulating and enjoyable to look forward to that interests them. This may be individual hobbies or interests but we also make sure there are plenty of group activities as well.
The varied, and interesting programme includes handicrafts, gardening, quizzes and concerts.
We also celebrate at least one special seasonal event a month, which might include Burns night, Mother's day and Wimbledon to name just a few.
