ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - DISABILITY SUPPORT AND INCLUSION (DSI) SERVICE (YORKSHIRE REGION)
Barnardo's Disability Support and Inclusion (DSI) Service (Yorkshire Region) is registered for the regulated activity 'personal care'. Over the years the remit of the service has changed with changes in contract service agreements with local authority social services departments. At the moment Barnardo's DSI Service provides 'short break services' to the families of approximately 30 children or young people who have special needs because of a disability. 'Short break services' can include time spent with children or young people in their home or in the community on an activity or taking part in a pastime. Some personal care and support with nutrition or taking medication, for example, is provided where required.
