ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - DEWDOWN HOUSE

Dewdown House is a Christian establishment which is owned by The Salvation Army. It is able to provide personal care and accommodation for up to 40 older people.

Dewdown aims to preserve, as far as possible, each resident’s personal independence, interests and pattern of life.

It is a purpose built home providing accommodation for older people. It was opened in 1981 and replaced an older home on the same site. In March 2013 it was voted ‘Best Home of the Year’ by an independent panel for The Salvation Army Social Services. The home is situated on the sea front and has some commanding views over the Severn Estuary to South Wales.

Situated about ½ mile from the town centre, during the summer months there is a land train that operates along the promenade to the pier. From there all amenities are just a short walk away. We have a hairdresser that visits the home twice a week and our enclosed patio that provides a haven even on the chilliest days.

Dewdown House is a Christian establishment in which daily prayers and a Sunday service are held. A visiting Anglican rector celebrates Holy Communion once a month and arrangements can be made for those of other denominations.
