ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - COTON HILL HOUSE
Opened by her Majesty the Queen Coton Hill House is on the outskirts of Shrewsbury Town centre, with views across the River Severn and a trip into the town can easily be arranged.
Coton Hill House is known for its innovation and activities and has an excellent reputation. Coton Hill has recently adopted the butterfly approach for its residents with dementia, this uses everyday activities as a form of engagement and has been shown to help with mobility, stimutating the mind, helps sleep paterns and can help with a reduction in medication.
Coton Hill House has facilities to support those with or without dementia and although we do not offer nursing services, the district nurses visit the home regularly, as do other health professionals. Coton Hill House is a vibrant day centre hosting movie afternoons, crafts, and a hot meal for those who need it, providing a lively atmosphere to the Home.
The atmosphere at Coton Hill House reflects the ethos of "Make it your Home" and there is something for everyone in the daily activities and events programme.
The food is freshly cooked in the Home’s own kitchen and during the season uses produce grown by green-fingered service users in the Home’s own garden!
Coton Hill House caters for people with both residential and EMI needs. Providing single room accommodation for 45 older people, which includes 9 respite beds and is situated close to Shrewsbury town centre, the local transport system has a regular bus service.
There is also a 100-place day centre for people who have mental health needs.
