ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - CLEVELAND HOUSE NURSING HOME
Originally a private house built over 150 years ago, Cleveland House is a grand, classical home with elegant period features situated in Edgerton, Huddersfield.
The home has recently awarded the Gold Standards Framework award for end of life care.
The care we offer
Cleveland House provides a range services for elderly residents, from short-term and convalescence to long-term, nursing care and respite.
Food
Residents can choose to eat in the dining room overlooking the beautiful gardens or in their bedrooms of they prefer. Nutritiously balanced dishes are prepared daily, catering for all diets and using fresh produce including herbs from the home’s garden. Each resident’s diet is continually monitored to ensure that they are eating enough and adapted if they are not. Our chef ensures that special occasions do not go unmarked and creates cakes for each resident’s birthday.
Activities
A varied programme of daily activities includes dominoes, bingo, armchair belly-dancing and a film club. Green-fingered residents are welcome to help with some gentle gardening and the home is regularly visited by a hairdresser, mobile library and local entertainers. Additionally we organise outings to local garden centres, for pub lunches and boat trips on the canal.
Each month Cleveland House holds a special event with a different seasonal theme. These are adapted to the individual capabilities of the residents, so everyone gets to enjoy something that interests them.
