ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - CITY WIDE CARE ALARMS
Sheffield City Council's City Wide Care Alarms (CWCA) service is a community alarm service available to anyone over 18 living in Sheffield. The office is based in the Darnall area of Sheffield.
The service operates twenty-four hours each day, seven days each week. Mobile Support Workers are employed to respond to emergency alarms and provide assistance to people in and around their own homes. The staff are all professionally trained and equipped, for example, to safely help people up from the floor if they have fallen.
At the time of this inspection approximately 8,500 people were registered to receive a service from City Wide Care Alarms.
In addition to providing a mobile response service, CWCA also provides a range of additional sensors which can be added to help people with specific needs, for example, if they are at risk of falling or have Dementia.
