ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - CARE MANAGEMENT GROUP - NEW DAWN
New Dawn is a specialist residential service for young adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, communication and sensory impairments and complex health needs. Service users are supported to develop individualised and accessible person centred plans and health action plans that promote increased choice, control over their lives and independence.
Our experienced team works in partnership with families, carers, advocates and public service professionals to ensure that the support provided is pro-active and appropriate.
We follow an active, person centred approach which supports service users to express their wishes, make choices and achieve their planned outcomes.
Our Total Communication approach enables staff to implement individualised communication strategies for service users with communication difficulties. Service users are supported to make choices and increase their independence using a wide range of communication methods including intensive interaction, hand over hand support, photos, objects of reference, PECS and ‘scent mapping’.

We support service users to choose and take part in activities that develop social, communication and life skills. These range from support in daily life skills such as shopping and cooking through to accessing further education, social and leisure activities and therapy sessions including music therapy and hydrotherapy.
