ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - CARE MANAGEMENT GROUP - 7 BIRDHURST RISE
7 Birdhurst Rise is a specialist residential service for adults with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. Service users are supported to develop person centred plans that promote increased choice, control over their lives and independence.
Our experienced team works in partnership with families, carers, advocates and public service professionals to ensure that the support provided is pro-active and appropriate.
We follow an active, person centred approach which supports service users to make choices about their lives and achieve their planned outcomes.
Our Total Communication approach enables staff to implement individualised communication strategies for service users with severe communication and sensory difficulties.
We support service users to choose and take part in activities that develop social, communication and life skills. These range from support in daily life skills such as shopping, cooking and gardening through to college placements, voluntary and paid work placements and leisure activities.
Service users are encouraged to express their rights freely and become contributing members of the community. In our experience, this helps to increase social and emotional well being and decreases the stigma that can affect people with learning disabilities.
