ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - BYARDS KEEP

At Byards Keep we offer support to six adults with a learning disability and complex physical needs.

This service is a large, detached property which has been sensitively renovated to meet the needs of the service users. It is located in the rural countryside of Greylees, close to Sleaford. This area has some of Britain’s most beautiful countryside, and has excellent road and rail transport links.

The proximity to Sleaford allows ready access to a number of community facilities. Local amenities include shops, a Post Office, supermarkets and the market place, which hosts an outdoor market on Mondays and Wednesdays and a Farmer’s Market on Saturdays. There are health services nearby, as well as leisure facilities including bowling centres, sports facilities, art galleries, riding schools and places of worship.

The environment has been designed to be sensitive to the needs of people with severe physical disabilities and those who require a low stimulus environment, whilst retaining a warm and homely décor.

There are six bedrooms, each of which has an en-suite bathroom with either a bath or a shower, depending on individual preference.  All bedrooms have four-way profiling beds and the option of a ceiling-mounted tracking hoist.

There is a large kitchen where everyone is supported to prepare meals and snacks, as well as a separate dining room. The service also has a fully-equipped sensory room.

We believe that every individual has the right to dignity and self-determination to the greatest degree possible, and that they can be supported in expressing themselves. We use a wide range of communication tools, aids and systems to enable people to make their preferences known.
