ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - BURRSWOOD HOUSE NURSING AND RESIDENTIAL HOME
Situated in leafy Walmersley, near Bury, Burrswood House has been designed to offer nursing, residential and dementia care for elderly residents.
The care we offer
Burrswood House is a modern, purpose-built home offering residential, nursing, palliative care and respite. It also specialises in the care for those with dementia and Parkinson’s disease.
Food
When it comes to food, we make sure that our residents’ preferences and requirements are catered for and our chef always prepares a range of nutritionally balanced, tasty dishes. A Night Bite menu offers a range of snacks and drinks between 6.30pm and 6.30am for those who need it.
We aim to fully understand new residents' nutritional needs, tastes, special diets and preferences shortly after their arrival, and we check regularly that such needs are being met.
Activities
At Burrswood House we recognise the importance of everyday activities, and that they contribute hugely to our residents' well-being. From card making, hand massage and quizzes to sing-a-longs, ten-pin bowling, bingo and a regular cinema club, there's something for everyone to get involved in.
The home takes part in our 'Big 12 calendar of seasonal activities that might include a celebration of the 'best of British', a pantomime or bonfire night celebrations. In warmer months we have a summer fair and evening events such as bowls and bingo. Activities don’t just take place in the home. We organise weekly trips to a local tea dance or luncheon club, and visits to places of interest such as Burrs Country Park or the local garden centre.
