ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - BRIARFIELDS
Briarfields is a homely home that is situated close to the town centre of Shrewsbury.
Briarfields sits in its own grounds yet is close to the residential area of Belle Vue and the Home regularly takes part in community activities within the area.
Individuality is the key and each of its rooms is all ready for our residents to add those personal touches that make a home. The lounge areas have dining facilities to enable a chat with your friends at meal times.
Briarfields is a holder of the Platinum Healthy Eating Award and operates a protected mealtime strategy, discouraging visits by professionals at mealtimes. This makes sure that mealtimes are relaxed, and more enjoyable for residents, and any visiting friends and family.
The Catering Manager provides a wide choice of freshly cooked meals catering for all dietary needs. All individuals are offered a choice from the day’s menu and meal times can be flexible by prior arrangement.
The bus service enables people who are able to visit the town for any shopping or just to admire the old medieval buildings.
Although not a nursing home, Briarfields has regular contact with the district nurse, and other medical professionals who visit regularly. Appointments can be made with the Chiropodist, Optician, local Dentist, Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist. We also have an excellent service from the local Doctors’ Surgeries, who also cover all emergency needs.
Briarfields is part of Coverage Care which operates 15 homes and a domiciliary service all within the county of Shropshire. As part of a group of Homes Briarfields regularly takes part in inter homes activities and was the 2012 winner of Coverage Care’s inter homes quiz.
Briarfields is home for 43 people providing single room accommodation for 41 elderly people, and offers a shared room to accommodate couples, (subject to availability); 3 bedrooms have en-suite facilities.
