ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - BLACKBERRY HILL
At Blackberry Hill we provide care to ten young adults with a learning disability.
The service is located in the small town of Castle Cary. People are encouraged to make the most of the leisure and education facilities in the local area. The high level of staffing enables everyone to get out and about, attending college courses and activity centres, as well as being actively involved in the day to day running of the service. A varied programme of activities takes place within the service, including music and art sessions, reflexology and massage.
Care plans are tailored to allow individuals choice and independence and are focused on helping people to reach their maximum potential and lead a fulfilling life.
Blackberry Hill has ten bedrooms, each with en-suite facilities. The service has been designed to meet the needs of young adults with a learning disability, while providing a warm and homely environment. There are spacious communal areas, all of which are furnished to a high standard. These include a lounge, a ground floor conservatory, a dining room and two kitchens; one of these is a specially designed training kitchen which offers a safe environment in which service users can help to prepare meals. There is also an upstairs conservatory which is used as a quiet area for relaxation.
