ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - BEECHWOOD SPECIALIST SERVICES
The Beechwood Specialist Care Centre provides comprehensive support for people with young onset dementia and organic brain injury. Beechwod provides an empowering and motivating environment where we enable people to become more independent.
Beechwood offers support for up to 43 adults - both male and female, between the ages of 18 and 60. We place the individual at the heart of everything we do and support people to maintain choice and control over their lives and priorities.
At Beechwood we appreciate how important it is to employ a wide range of social, recreational and therapeutic activities. We encourage people to suggest ideas and have an input into the leisure, social and educational activities they wish to become involved in. We also support people to continue with the hobbies and interests they enjoyed before arriving at Beechwood, with our main aim to ensure that each person is supported to achieve the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to manage their lives and progress to the level of independent living that is right for them.
We have a full and varied programme of activities, including shopping and day trips to local places of interest, enabling people to connect with the local community. Trips further afield are also available.
Meal times are an important part of the day at Beechwood. Our experienced catering staff prepares a menu of home-cooked food every day, and we cater for individual likes and dislikes from a cultural, religious or choice perspective.
