ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - BEACHER HALL NURSING CENTRE
A charming listed building on the outskirts of Reading with the town centre just a mile away. Beacher Hall has been carefully converted into a well equipped, comfortable nursing home.
The care we offer
Beacher Hall provides care for the young physically disabled and specialises in brain injuries sustained as a result of an accident or disease. We care for residents with Parkinson's disease and MS and also offer care for younger residents with life-limiting diseases. The home offers both long-term care, short stays and respite.
Food
In such a beautiful setting mealtimes are an occasion to look forward to, whether eating in the splendid dining room or outside in the gardens on warmer days. Residents may also choose to eat in their own rooms if they prefer. Our chef provides a wide range of balanced, nutritious meals to cater to all tastes and diets, made with fresh, seasonal ingredients. A Night Bite menu allows residents to order sandwiches and snacks between 6.30pm and 6.30am if needed.
Tea, coffee and biscuits are regularly served, and a delicious home made cake makes a fabulous addition to afternoon tea.
Activities
Beacher Hall's relaxed setting makes it great for meeting new friends and taking part in the wide range of the activities we provide. Our activity co-ordinator plans quizzes, movement to music and card making along with more specialised activities, such as sensory art classes and music therapy.
Each month the home profiles a different country, incorporating themed music, food and activities. Residents enjoy performances from visiting entertainers. The home also offers a 'Readi-bus' service, which is available all day, everyday to take residents anywhere they wish, from the cinema an shopping to the theatre and the local pub!
