ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - BEACHCOMBER CARE HOME (NURSING)
Beachcomber Care Home (Nursing) is registered to provide accommodation for up to 52 people with nursing or residential needs. The home is located on the seafront in the town of Seaham and is owned and run by A Charles Thomas (Care) Ltd.
Set on the sea-front Beachcomber is close to all local amenities such as shops, cafes and restaurants.
Beachcomber is registered with the Care Quality Commission. We provide Residential Care, Nursing Care and Palliative Care, Respite Care and Private Day Care.
A variety of accommodation is available and all rooms are tastefully decorated, many benefit from en-suite facilities and a call system operates throughout the home. We have specialist baths, showers and toilet facilities. There are three lounges, one with sea views a dining room and a library. We have two courtyard gardens for our residents to enjoy.
We believe in treating everyone as individuals, allowing our residents the maintenance of dignity and respect and at all times being able to express their views. They are encouraged to have access to privacy and are not subjected to inflexible daily routines.
At Beachcomber we know activities play an important role and we aim to enhance our residents' quality of life by providing a varied range of social activities.
The professionalism of our trained staff is paramount. They achieve high standards of care using a relaxed approach to individual problems, encouraging families to take an active part in that care.
The owners and management have many years' experience in providing expert care to older people in a homely, family atmosphere and our overall aim is to provide dedicated, personal care, tailored to individual needs.
Membership of the Registered Nursing Home Association and County Durham Care Homes Association provides an excellent resource for the company.
