ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - BAYFORD HOUSE NURSING CENTRE
Originally a turn-of-the-century private residence, Bayford House enjoys a pleasant rural setting in the pretty village of Stockcross, near Newbury.
The care we offer
Converted to provide the highest level of care, Bayford House offers a wide range of support, including nursing care, convalescence, palliative care and respite.
Food
We aim for mealtimes to be an enjoyable experience and our residents can expect to have excellent, home-made and nutritious food at Bayford House. We cater for all tastes, and our food is nutritionally balanced and based on individual requirements.
Each resident is assessed shortly after they move in, so their dietary preferences and needs are incorporated into the home’s daily menu. As well as hot meals served each day, residents can choose from lighter options as well as hot and cold alternatives. Afternoon tea includes a delicious home-made cake, much to residents' enjoyment.
While many enjoy the resplendent setting of the traditional dining areas, those residents who prefer to can eat in the privacy of their own room if they wish.
Activities
From sing-a-longs, reminiscence sessions and arts and crafts to a spot of gentle gardening, pub lunches and shopping trips, there's always plenty to do at Bayford House. The home takes part in regular seasonally-themed activities which might include a summer fete and a Christmas pantomime. Recent activities have included a Ritz tea party and a visit from a mobile farm. Local entertainers, a mobile library and a hairdresser also visit regularly for added enjoyment and convenience.
