The Mission at Barclay Gardens is
To improve the lives of those who use our services by providing quality, innovative and inclusive care that respects the individual, their choices and aspirations.
Situated within walking distance of the local shops Barclay Gardens is part of a purpose built care complex and has 40 bedrooms providing care for older people and older people with dementia. All bedrooms have en-suite shower facilities and are fully furnished but service users are able to bring in their favourite possessions and furniture within the limitations of the space.
Our philosophy at Barclay Gardens is that this is your home and we provide individually tailored care and always welcome your relatives and friends. We always listen to our service users and many ideas are incorporated into how we run the home.
We have a guest suite which is available for you to book for any visiting friends or relatives
There are accessible gardens for all to enjoy, with seating around the courtyard area and raised flowerbeds to enable any residents to continue with their love of gardening should they wish to.
At Barclay Gardens you can expect to be involved and informed about what’s happening at every stage of your care.
You will always be involved in discussions about your care and treatment, and your privacy and dignity will be respected by all staff.
Food is very important and at Barclay Gardens The Catering Manager has been awarded the Platinum Healthy Eating Award and achieved 5 stars on the scores on the door for kitchen hygiene, which is no surprise to the residents at Barclay Gardens who all enjoy the home cooked meals and of course if you need a special diet we can provide that.
Barclay Gardens has adopted the Butterfly Approach which is an innovative look at people and life for those with dementia by using everyday events and activities as engagement,it stimulates the mind, aids mobility, helps with sleep patterns and can help with the reduction of medication.
