ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - ASHLEIGH HOUSE
At Ashleigh House we support eight individuals who have profound and multiple learning disabilities, autism and physical disabilities.
The service is on the outskirts of Taunton, five minutes walk from the town centre. We have good relationships with our neighbours and make use of local facilities daily. Courses such as art and crafts and communication are available at the college.
Our aim is for everyone to participate in the community and have progression and personal development. The staff team are positive and happy and provide consistent support, while never being afraid to try something different to open up new opportunities to the people we support. We encourage independence and want each person to continue to develop as much as possible.
Each individual has a personalised timetable of activities to meet their needs. None of the people living at the service are able to communicate verbally, so staff adopt a variety of communication methods, including signing and symbols, to enable each person to make choices about activities, menus and changes to the service.
All bedrooms have en-suite facilities. The service is wheelchair accessible.
