We have owned and operated nursing homes since 1988, and have developed a reputation for excellence and compassion in our care.
We have had in excess of 25 years experience in providing nursing care for adults including older adults and we are able to look after those most vulnerable members of society caring for them with dignity and professionalism, offering person centred care. We have as part of our continuing programme upgraded all of the accommodation in the nursing home.
We have 23 bedrooms designated for adults requiring nursing care (including dementia care) all having en-suite facilities. Care is provided based on an individually tailored support package which recognizes the person as an individual with unique needs and choices.
Complex Care
Support is offered to people with complex continuing health conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Huntingdon’s, Motor Neurone disease, Stroke, etc... or injury such as spinal injury or acquired brain injury . People who receive care may not need the high dependency service we offer but do complex or multiple health conditions with a high level of care requirement. Provision can be short term for example, day care, in a crisis or following a hospital admission, respite care or for a longer period if needed.
Applegarth was the first unit in Carlisle to provide for younger people with complex needs and we have built up a wealth of experience and skill to meet those needs.
Applegarth also delivers services to individuals with wide ranging learning disability needs and offers care to those with a learning disability which may or may not be associated with physical disability.
Neuro Unit
We offer: rehabilitation, crisis day, short or continuing care to patients with Acquired Brain Injury Neurological Conditions or Spinal Injury, High Dependency Care Needs, Minimally Aware State, Continuing Care Needs, Behavior problems Including: Tracheotomy Care and Care of Ventilated Patients.
