ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - AMORE DALTON COURT CARE HOME
Dalton Court is a purpose built nursing home situated in Cockermouth, half a mile north of the A66 off Lamplugh Road (A5086). The home has been designed specifically to meet the needs of older people requiring general nursing and dementia nursing care. It provides a modern and supportive environment with 60 en suite bedrooms each with shower facilities.
Our care ethos
At Dalton Court we understand that choosing a care home for yourself, a loved one, or someone in your care can be difficult and sometimes a daunting experience. We believe in high quality, individual care delivered by dedicated and appropriately trained staff. We encourage our residents to be as active and to retain as much of their independence as possible. Our focus at Dalton Court is to maximise the potential of a person at any stage of their life by enabling them to focus on their abilities. The care home atmosphere is open and friendly and our home manager welcomes visitors at any time during the day - excepy for protected meal times.
Our residents are usually aged 65 and over and whatever the length of their stay, we aim to help our residents feel as comfortable as possible.
Care at our home is led by Dignity Dementia Champions who are highly trained and highly skilled to provide person centred care. They undertake training which ensures that people living with dementia are treated with care, dignity and respect. At Dalton Court we also encourage involvement with families to ensure relevant personal items are used to stimulate reminiscence and promote conversation. We incorporate the latest research and dementia mapping to assist in creating a plan tailored to the individual needs of each person.
Funding is provided by the local authority, NHS or the individual resident. Fees are dependent on the care required and will be determined by a comprehensive needs based assessment prior to a resident entering the home. Dalton Court is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
