"My Mother stayed in Abbey Park from January to October 2016. In my opinion, the staff were unable to cope with her increasing needs. When we visited Abbey Park to assess whether it would be suitable for Moms needs, we were informed that they had weekly entertainment for the residents enjoyment. In the 10 months my mother was resident, there was NO entertainment what so ever. The residents were made to sit watching TV for most of the day, and only moved when they were shuffled into the Dining Room for meals. Mom hated sitting - before her dementia diagnosis she was extremely active and used to walk for miles - the care staff were unable to cope with her constantly walking about. She had numerous falls so was covered in bruises. She even managed to escape once, thankfully the door only led into the back garden, but they were unable to coax her back into the house. When they eventually called me to go and help, mom had been walking round the garden for over 3 hours .... in the middle of January .... I would not recommend this establishment for any one suffering with Dementia. The staff are unable to cope and could be quite aggressive with some of the more challenging residents"
