ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - 33 NEW ROAD

33 New Road is an adapted bungalow providing residential care for three people with learning disabilities. For the residents this is their home and so the caring and experienced staff team aim to support them to live happy, healthy lives in a safe environment. We aim to make the home as homely as possible and reflect the preferences and styles of all the residents living there. It is a bright, welcoming home full of colour and light, because experiencing a varied sensory experience is very important to the residents at New Road.

 

Being a long-term home, the staff are able to build their understanding of the residents’ needs and preferences and work to meet those needs to provide high quality, person-centred support. The residents at New Road are not able to communicate verbally but we believe that this should not hinder their ability to express themselves. All residents are encouraged and supported to add personal touches to their rooms and to be involved in the decoration of the home.

 

The residents have complex medical needs and require high levels of care, but we still aim to promote active, enjoyable lifestyles full of individual participation and choice.  We encourage involvement in the community and the development and maintenance of relationships, friendships and contact with families. Family members and friends are always welcome to visit.

 

All our residents are treated with the upmost dignity and respect and we are dedicated to providing top quality personal care tailored to the needs of each individual resident. New Road is fully accessible for wheelchair users and all residents are encouraged to be as active as possible. We also value and promote equality and welcome diversity.
