Brook Lane is a specialist residential service for adults with moderate to severe autism, learning disabilities, challenging behaviour and communication difficulties.
Service users are supported to develop person centred plans and health action plans using accessible and alternative forms of communication that promote increased choice, control over their lives and independence.
Our experienced team works in partnership with families, carers, advocates and public service professionals to ensure that the support provided is pro-active and appropriate.
We follow an active and structured person centred approach, together with the principles of SPELL, which supports service users to achieve their planned outcomes.
Our Total Communication approach enables staff to implement individualised communication strategies for service users with severe communication and sensory difficulties. We utilise our wide range of resources and communication tools such as PECS, intensive interaction, objects of reference and flow of the day charts.
We actively encourage personalisation and welcome enquiries and self referrals from service users and their supporters in addition to referrals from local authority teams.
