ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - 19 FAIRFAX ROAD
At 19 Fairfax Road we provide support to four ladies with learning disabilities, some of whom have autism.
We offer support in a warm, friendly environment. We believe individuals should be given the opportunity to make decisions and build their skills. We feel it is important for everyone to be able to be involved in the local community and build positive relationships.
Staff receive specialist training as required to meet each person’s needs. Some of the ladies we support cannot communicate verbally. Several of the staff have taken part in Intensive Interactive training to further develop their skills at communicating in different ways, including body mirroring techniques which are tailored to the individual.
We have introduced a wide choice of activities, including music therapy, aromatherapy and massage and days out and holidays. The service is only five minutes from local shops and public transport is available at the end of our road.
The service is a four bedroom detached bungalow with a large, safe garden. The people living at the service have been encouraged to choose their own bedroom furniture.
