ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - 137B TENTELOW LANE
At 137b Tentelow Lane we support four gentlemen with autism, profound and multiple learning disabilities, challenging needs and associated mental health issues. The service is in a suburban area in Norwood Green, London, approximately 10 minutes from the nearest bus stop.
We focus on enabling rather than disability and value each person as an individual, celebrating and respecting their diverse backgrounds.
We have been able to support people who had previously been labelled as extremely challenging to take part in everyday activities. This has been recognised by purchasers and families. We encourage everyone to explore a range of activities, such as bowling, gym, swimming, playing football, going to the cinema and going on day trips. There are opportunities to attend college.
We hold weekly service user meetings where issues can be discussed and menus are chosen. Everyone is given the opportunity to express their wishes through their key worker and family involvement is also encouraged.
Some of the bedrooms have en-suite facilities. The service has a large garden which is used for outdoor games and barbecues, as well as being a place where everyone can relax.
