ABOUT LOCAL CARE HOME - 13 HUTTON AVENUE
At 13 Hutton Avenue we support eight people who have learning disabilities and physical disabilities which may require clinical intervention.
Creating a homely environment is key to the service. The aim is to allow day to day home living to be a normal part of life, as well as providing wide opportunities in the community. Individuals can choose to undertake educational courses at the local college or agricultural college.
We promote independence and provide individuals with a wider outlook and opportunities for the future. Everyone is invited to be involved in all aspects of the service and we hold regular meetings to discuss menu planning, holidays, activities and staff recruitment.
13 Hutton Avenue is near the centre of Hartlepool, close to health centres, places of worship, parks and shops. The service has established links with the local community and takes advantage of the facilities available within the neighbourhood. Individuals are encouraged and supported to experience a range of activities. We have a fully adapted vehicle to assist with safe transportation and are also able to access healthcare services when necessary.
The service is an adapted two-floor property with private gardens and a large conservatory. The entire service is wheelchair accessible and each bedroom has tracking and hoists and its own en-suite facilities. Other features include specialist bathrooms, a sensory room and a training kitchen with height adjustable work surfaces.
